Day 1: EUROPE –YAOUNDE
Arrival and greetings at the airport by Tchet Service’s team, transfer to the hotel and brief meeting with the guide about your stay in Cameroon. Hotel Jouvence. BB
Day 2: YAOUNDE-PARC MEFOU-EBOGO-YAOUNDE
Breakfast and visit of the chimpanzee park of Mefou, we will see gorillas of the West Plains, chimps, baboons, mandrills, etc. The visit then goes on to Ebogo, a small village located along the Nyong, boat ride on the river, and visit of the tricentenary tree. Lunch and drive back to Yaounde. Hotel Jouvence. BB
Day 3: YAOUNDE-BATOUFAM (4h road) Early departure to the western region of Cameroon, located at an altitude of 2 730 meters high, sur-rounded by the Bamboutos mountains. We’ll observe terrace plantations from the road, farmed by the Bamileke tribe, who live on these mountains. We’ll go on to Batoufam, a big chieftaincy, who owns one of the richest art objects collection within its labyrinthine museum. Lunch break at the Chefferie’s garden (grilled fish or roasted chicken), small rest and visit of the cultural heritage. Instal-lation in La Chefferie’s guest houses. Evening meeting with the Batoufam Superior Chief for an ex-planation on Bamileke’s cultures, the Western region people. (Family dinner). Case chefferie MB
Day 4: BATOUFAM–BANDJOUN-BAFOUSSAM Breakfast and departure to Bandjoun chefferie, visit of the Museum. We keep going on to Bafous-sam, set up at the hotel and visit the Baleng’s lake’s crater, located 40 minutes away from the town of Bafoussam. Small 30 minutes hike to get a view on the beautiful green colored lake. Lunch in Bafoussam, visit of the Metche waterfalls in the afternoon, back at the hotel and rest. Hotel le Saré de Kamkop.BB
Day 5: BAFOUSSAM-KOUTABA-FOUMBAN (1h30 road)
Early breakfast and departure to the Foumban historic city, a Kingdom of the Bamileke region. Arri-val and visit of the Foumban museum, one of the liveliest museums of Cameroon with a past con-nected to the Germans’ colonization. Lunch in the city and visit of the handicrafts area, small stop at Koutaba to buy seasons fruits jam, and local coffee. Back to Bafoussam. Dinner and free evening. Hotel le Paradise.BB
Day 6: KOUTABA-DSCHANG
Early breakfast and departure to the historic town of Dschang (first Cameroon’s Western capital), arrival and lunch break in a local restaurant. Installation in the common guest houses of the Keleng chefferie. Afternoon dedicated to dinner preparation with the inhabitants, family dinner. Case Keleng.MB
Day 7: DSCHANG-MELONG-EDEA
Breakfast and departure to the seaside region, after a break at the beautiful Ekom-Nkam waterfall -80 meters high- where one of the Tarzan movies was filmed in 1982 (« Greystoke »). We’ll continue to Edea, a mandatory stop in the most beautiful Cameroon’s plantations, where we’ll be able to taste fruits. Arrival and installation at the catholic mission of Edea, the country’s « city of lights », where a hydroelectric company stands. Catholic Mission.BB
Day 8: EDEA-PONGO SONGO-DIZANGUE-EDEA Breakfast and departure to the chimp sanctuary of Pongo Songo, where all the animals live on two islands. They are taken care of by the dedicated volunteers team of the french organization « Papaye France ». Their goal is to create a preserved land for those endangered species. Arrival and transfer on a boat, starting point of the visit. We visit the adult chimpanzees first and then the teenagers, and then the camp where the new babies chimp are looked after by the volunteers. Visit of Ossa lakes from the Dizangue restaurant, back to Edea and rest. Catholic mission.BB
Day 9: EDEA-KRIBI-PYGMEES BAGEYLIE Breakfast and departure to the sea town located one hour away from Edea, it’s a nice small town built by the Germans. Stop on the beaches of Grand Batanga for a seaside lunch. Departure to the pygmie village Bagyelie in the forest, arrival and greetings, tour of the village and installation of the tents. The pygmies are the first inhabitants of the forest in Central Africa, they live from hunting and gathering, far from modernity. One counts around 4 groups of pygmies in Cameroon, and also in Gabon, Centrafrica and in Congo (Baka, Bagyelie, Bakola, Bayoko). These ethnies live entirely out of the forest, they have a perfect knowledge of medicinal plants, and they are also very good cha-mans able to predict the future. They are considered doctors for many people in Cameroon. Night in tents FB
Day 10: KRIBI Breakfast, tour of medicinal plants with the pygmies, small hunt in the forest, set up of animals traps, etc. Back to camp and departure to the town of Kribi, installation at the hotel located by the sea, and rest. Tara Plage Hotel.BB
Day 11: KRIBI-DOUALA
Breakfast and swim, lunch and departure in early afternoon to Douala, the economic capital of the country, where more than 3.5 million people live. Arrival and transfer at the airport. End of services.
